VISION STATEMENT

The United Way of Columbia County is an organization of community volunteers that leads, inspires and mobilizes volunteers and contributors to help provide solutions to essential health and human service issues and improve the quality of life for the people of Columbia County.

MISSION & PURPOSE

Mission:
Our Mission Statement is "to increase the organized capacity of
people to care for each other."

Purpose:
For more than 50 years our volunteers have been:

  • looking into human service needs of Columbia Countians and seeking
    preventative solutions;
  • developing community resources - the money, manpower, & materials -
    to serve the needs of our people;
  • allocating these resources where most needed; and
  • keeping our friends and neighbors informed about how we are doing.


SPECIAL INITIATIVES

Columbia County Human Service Coalition - A charter member of this coalition
of education, business, government and human services executives who coordinate
human service planning.

Early Childhood Education - Partnering with public and private organizations from throughout the state to advocate for programs aimed at educating our youngest citizens.

The Community Fund - Venture and Community Grants directed at neighborhood coalitions.

Information and Referral Services - Working with local, regional and state organizations to establish "211", an information and referral hotline manned by trained professionals 24/7.
